Final Fantasy Versus 13 Lyrics Translated
The lyrics to the song in the Final Fantasy Versus 13 E3 2006 trailer have been translated again. This time the translation is said to be more accurate.
The title of song is now known as “Dream of the Wood”.
LATIN:
Tellus dormit
et liberi in diem faciunt
numquam extinguunt
ne expergisci possint.
Omnia dividit
tragoedia coram
amandum quae.
Et nocte perpetua
ehem vel vera visione
par oram videbo te
mane tempu expergiscendi.
———-
ENGLISH:
Somnus Nemoris (Dream of the Wood)
The kingdom sleeps
and children sacrify theirselves day by day
until they extinguish,
and they will never awake.
This tragedy destroys,
in front of them,
every beloved thing.
And in this never-ending night,
Look there, the real vision
on the edge; I will see you
and the next morning the time will awake.

This is a great song! Haunting score, and lyrics that brings soul to the story.. no wonder I was mesmerized the first time I saw the trailer! Great job!
Isn’t the title supposed to be “Endless Sleep”? I think it will be more appropriate given the meaning of the lyrics
I love this song. At first I thought it was japanese but it was actually latin. Who would have guessed.
erm…can i ask where u guys hear the song…i’m very interest bout it…
in youtube there r english and Chinese(lousy) version
love the song actually. it’s very lamenting.
Does anyone know where to get this song? Thx, love the song @_@
God, this song is so beautiful. I’ll be definetely getting this game the INSTANT it comes out! XD And as the comment before this one said: anyone know where to get the song?
Go to http://www.ffrebirth.com – there, you can download the audio of the trailer in mp3 format. I say audio because the noise of thunder, footsteps, metal clanking and shooting can still be heard. All the same, enjoy! ^^
u know at first i thought the people who say “OMG, I THOUGH THIS WAS A JAPANESE SONG ^_^ kawaii desuuu kaaa~ etc. etc.” watch too much subbed anime, believing that any time of language that isnt english is in japanese. but then i realized that one who watches alot of anime would notice that this doesnt even sound japanese. so i come to the conclusion that some people think that “if FF is from japan, everything in it must be in japanese!” who wouldve guessed they were wrong.
lol email me for the song if you’re still interested trying to get the song XD …alucard_abunai@yahoo.com
Love it.
Versus was a big reason I bought a PS3.
okay… I love the song and all, but the translation is wrong as hell. Sorry.
Tellus dormit
et liberi in diem faciunt
numquam extinguunt
ne expergisci possint.
just to give an idea of how wrong it it (more so than even the original)-
“tellus” means earth, land, country, region, etc.
“in diem” is in+accusative. so “into the day”
“ne expergisci possint” I had some trouble here. “possint” is third person, plural. “the children who lie down never awaken” is more likely to be correct. This is church Latin, so many words are omitted.
It should go something like…
The earth sleeps
and (its) children make into the day
that which is never put out
and those who lie down never awaken
… something like that. D:
