The battle system in Final Fantasy Versus 13 will be similar to that of Kingdom Hearts, however more things have been added and it is still being worked on.
During battle the main character’s appearance will change. When in battle his eyes will turn red. It’s possible that his eyes will change to other colours as well, such as green. When he quickly moves from one place to another (possibly warping) his hair flashes white.
Weapons
Weapons will have different ways of attacking enemies. Some of the weapons will even be used as shields. Some kind of customization elements can also be made to the weapons. As the game progresses the main character will have more and more weapons available to him.
Abilities
One of the abilities that the Main Character can use is he can warp to wherever his weapons are thrown.
Hope it isn’t Kingdom Hearst. I love Kingdom Hearst and all but the battle system was way too kiddy; well at least for this game.
and you think the normal FF battle system isnt kiddy? the normall FF battle system was as simple as clicking the start button, then progams, then choosing a program on ur computer. because thats wat it was, just choosing options. at least now u get to freakin move around urself

Wtf is Kingdom Hearst? And the final fantasy series arnt just pure rpgs, and the only reason kingdom hearts gameplay was kiddy because it was made for a kids game, im guessing versus 13 will be like (hopefully) like devil may cry 3/4 gameplay, fast pace, tons of moves and actully being able to bring skills and combos to the game instead of clicking on shit and waiting for your people to attack.
to be honest this game is quite “unknown” I mean like what IF the game sucks? because it might as well be like kingdom hearts, we dont know how gameplay will be so dont freak out people.

Kingdom Hearts was an ACTION RPG and a damn good one at that. the rest of the FF games were just pure awesome RPG’s
I am taking a wait and see attitude toward the battle system, even if it is difficult or annoying I will still play it due solely to the fact that I am a Final Fantasy Fan. I am looking forward to a change in combat and I think with as much game play is in each game once you become accustom to how it operates its less of a problem and I believe most will enjoy the change.
The battle system sounds nice I think… But is it the same as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII at the PSP? Or is it a battle system like in other FF games? I wonder…
Can anyone please answer this? Because I don’t understand everything they’re saying on different sites about the battle system…

id rather it be like the original ff’s u cant deny the original gameplay was better i mean summoning gf’s was badass and overdrives are the shit but i cant say kingdom hearts wasnt a badass game either i jus hope the story line is a good one

yea the ff games are usually the same but it still kicks ass! of course this one is ganna be differ.. ENIX doesnt want the games to be excatly like the others with a differ story

this is perfect, kingdom hearts gameplay is more suitable for versus 13… original ff battle system/gameplay is quite boring to wait for your character/enemy to attack… kingdom hearts gameplay is better because its kind a realistic, you can dodge your opponents attack, you dont have to wait your enemy to damage you first before you kill them… you can move freely like reality… its perfect for versus 13….
noctis is not a kind of letting the enemy hit him..he is agressive..the normal ff battle system is not good for him its bullshit…kingdom hearts is the one suitable to his characteristics…
#ajckh2 is right.. those who think that kingdom hearts is kinda kiddy, your right.. but versus 13 story,graphics,etc is different from kingdom hearts.. and if the gameplay is the same it means its better and has more command or what so ever because its ps3 and its naturally better…
yes thats right normal ff gameplay is bullshit you cant avoid taking damage whatta kiddy and boring its good that ff13versus is different and better..i hope so..

yes its more like dissidia, you can freely move unlike the old shit ff gameplay kinda boring.KH is perfect for this game..
nice ff game.i think this is the best of all ff series as nomura mention..its more realism and different from all the old ff and has greater display of graphic violence with an instance of blood.
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, there is scarcely any information surrounding the gameplay and battle system of Final Fantasy Versus XIII because no formal footage has been shown by Square Enix of the gameplay online or within video game magazines.
Within recent Japanese gaming magazine interviews, Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Versus XIII’s gameplay will be a realistic derivation of Kingdom Hearts’s battle system with some elements of a third-person shooter aspect. Nomura has also stated that the game will depart from the light and magical aesthetic of his previous directorial games (i.e. Kingdom Hearts) and opt for a darker, bleaker world that is intended to counter previous Final Fantasy installments. In formulating a realistic world, Nomura has stated that he wants the characters to be “believable” and thus realistic. As a testament towards his desire for realism, in the PlayStation Premier trailer, in contrast to previous Final Fantasy titles, Versus XIII had a greater display of graphic violence with an instance of blood.
Nomura has also stated that he aims to create previously unseen “tricky” battle sequences..
Final fantasy versus 13 looks like it will be so awesome, especially if the battle system is like kingdom hearts, but regular final fantasy 13 will probably be exactly like mother 3, just cus of the combo bullshit
